It was all eyes on the London Marathon; but before that, a spot of parkrun!
With Cardiff and Grangemoor cancelled, Heledd, Niall, Meg and Brian made a trip to Trelai whist Ian B and Craig went to Llanishen Park and Rob B did Tremorfa.
Chris took on the trails of Coed Cefn-pwll-du whilst Janes D did Barry Island, Tom B went to Gloucester City and Johnny was up in Daventry.
Ceri took advantage of being in and visited Fort William.
With London marathon fever, Natalie and Simon went to Gunnersbury, Rob L was at Osterley and, Karen and Andy at Tooting Common.
Elsewhere in Australia, Morwenna returned to Kawana and Dan did his 11th Dutch parkrun at Kralingse Bos.
All in all, a good Saturday was had by all!
2. Sunday Round Up
After months of training in the one of the wettest winters on recent records, our San Domenico runners ventured to London for the London Marathon. Arguably one of the biggest marathons on the world calendar, it definitely captures minds and hearts to all of us in the club and the popularity of nabbing a club place is always oversubscribed!
Kev was the lucky winner of the club ballot and smashed it with a 7 minute PB.
Del returned to London but this time starting in the Championship pen following the amazing marathon year that 2023 was for her. She finished London with another PB to make it four PBs in a row. Is a sub 3 on the cards!!??
Andy G improved his time by 2 minutes and Jack H got a new PB by over 45 mins.
Joey ran London for the first time whilst George kept his brother company for an enjoyable 26.2 mile run.
Well done to all our marathon runners.
More locally, Ron, Niall and Susannah took on the slightly shorter distance of 6 miles on the Hospice of the Valleys, 6 mile race at Parc Bryn Bach. Susannah managed a 3rd female overall and Ron a 2nd V70 on a hilly but scenic route. A bit of a chilly one but a race on the Club Championship so points added!
